To understand the role of gamification in educational applications, BHH member Doonamis considers necessary to briefly explain this concept.

Gamification refers to the learning technique that uses game elements in the educational field to achieve better results. In this way, educational gamification is used to improve a skill, acquire specific knowledge, or even as a reward for specific actions.

This type of learning is gaining increasing importance as various gamification tools manage to motivate students and, above all, facilitate the internalization of knowledge in a much more fun and attractive way, particularly for children.

As a result of digitalization, gamification can now also be carried out through applications and technological devices. At Doonamis, they know that any mobile device on the market is capable of running interactive games that can make an activity more enjoyable and fun.

Physical Activity

Fitness mobile applications have adopted gamification to motivate users to move more and achieve their health goals. These apps incorporate challenges, rewards, and levels to maintain interest and motivation. This approach not only makes exercise fun but also helps maintain consistency, a crucial factor in improving physical fitness.

Nutrition

In the realm of nutrition, gamification helps users make healthier food choices. There are applications that use point systems and achievements to encourage people to log their food intake, stay within their calorie goals, and choose nutritious options. By turning diet tracking into a game, these apps make the process of monitoring what we eat less tedious and more rewarding.

Psychological Benefits

Gamification works by tapping into our innate desire for achievement and recognition. Game elements, such as leaderboards and virtual prizes, provide a sense of progress and success, which is essential for maintaining long-term motivation. Additionally, friendly competition with friends or the user community can encourage greater commitment to health goals.
