Take a look at the paper on Expanding a Behavioral View on Digital Health Access
Barriers to access digital solutions are one of the main obstacles to achieving health equity. To move forward, we must understand complex systems and stakeholders. Behavioral change across stakeholders is central to the adoption of solutions and to fostering health equity.
Founder of the Hub's member Neamah Health Consulting, Manal Baqer and her colleagues from both academia and industry recently published a paper in JMIR Publications discussing this issue. The authors combined equity and access frameworks studied previously with a behavioral framework, and generated practical strategies that can be applied across product development stages.
These strategies span the design, delivery, dissemination, and sustainability phases of digital health solutions to advance health equity. Starting with these frameworks at the beginning of the innovation process ensures that digital solutions are developed with equity in mind, rather than worsening existing disparities in society.
