#BHHMembersInitiatives to fight against #Covid19 – B. Braun
B. Braun promotes a project against Covid-19 based on the physical and chemical properties of functionalized metallic nanoparticles.
The PRACE association (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) has granted 40 million hours of the Joliot-Curie supercomputer to the IMEM research group of the Department of Chemical Engineering. It will carry out the project “Computational study for the development of hyperspectral detection platforms for SARS-CoV-2”.
The research is part of the Project against Covid-19 promoted by B. Braun, a multinational company in the hospital sector, in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP), the Institut de Recerca Fundació Josep Carreras and the Institut de Ciències Fotòniques (ICFO).
It aims to design innovative strategies for the detection, blocking and elimination of the virus, based on the physical and chemical properties of functionalized metallic nanoparticles.
