Barcelona Health Hub wishes all members of the digital health ecosystem a merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy 2023!

For Barcelona Health Hub, the past year 2022 has been a blast. BHH can now count on more than 400 members, connecting startups, corporates, pharmas, universities and hospitals in the BHH digital health ecosystem. More information about the BHH members you can find here.

Fortunately, Barcelona Health Hub is not alone in its efforts to advance the digital transformation in the healthcare sector. Many new partnerships were made this year: for example, BBVA joined forces with BHH, and recently the Barça Innovation Hub, the center for sports knowledge and innovation of FC Barcelona, became a partner.

Also, BHH got help from a brand new team of BHH Ambassadors, who have committed themselves to the BHH mission to promote innovation in digital health and its transfer to the sector. New members of the BHH Ambassadors team include Therese Jamaa, Vice President of Huawei Spain, Orlando Vergara, Business Franchise Head Neuroscience Spain of Novartis, Mar Alarcon, Co-Founder & Launcher of Terapme, Anna Gener, CEO of Savills, Pedro Díaz Yuste, General Director of Savia-Mapfre, Helena Torras, Managing Partner of PAO Capital and Eduard Martín,CIO & Director of Connectivity Intelligent at the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation.

The BHH Ambassadors

BHH also announced this year that it’s going to expand its Headquarters. This expansion will be possible thanks to the fact that the Fundació Privada Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, owner of the Recinte Modernista, will renovate one of the pavilions in the west wing, located just opposite the San Manuel Pavilion, the building that currently houses the BHH Headquarters. The renovation will involve an investment of around €10 million. 

In summer, a great project finally saw the light: Barcelona Health Hub and the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau teamed up to create the Center of Clinical Validation of Digital Solutions. This accelerator aims to clinically validate digital health solutions and to promote technology transfer to health environments. It provides the methodology and the team to validate your digital health technology with professionals and real patients in record time.

As usual, Barcelona Health Hub organized many events during the year. It kicked off with the BHH participation in 4YFN, the startup business platform, during the Mobile World Congress in February. Four days of #4YFN22 has been a great success for Barcelona Health Hub. 23 companies at the #BHHExpo, 8 interesting #BHHPanels, 3 great #BHHTours, one award ceremony of #HackThePlanet, lots of networking and many, many more opportunities to meet you all! The BHH Team at 4YFN 2022

In April it was time for the second edition of the #BHHSummit Iberoamérica, a digital health event dedicated to the Spanish-speaking market. The event explored the trends and success stories that are shaping the industry of the future. It brought together more than 21 speakers, 24 sponsors, 14 Show & Tell startup sessions and 3 interesting panels on the digital revolution in Pharma. The virtual stage of the #BHHSummit Iberoamérica

In June BHH organized the third edition of the e-Health Investment Forum, together with Col·legi de Metges de Barcelona (CoMB), EsadeBan and Barcelona Activa. This unique space for investment in digital health was this year focused on disruptive digital solutions for chronic diseases, and has been a great success. The #BHHSummit on October 26th was a huge success – a record number of 1000+ visitors enjoyed a full day of great panels, amazing startup pitches and lots of networking. Attendees, sponsors and speakers came together both on-site and online to find out how to solve real challenges in healthcare. More than 50 speakers, 43 startups, and many insurance and pharma companies came together in this leading event in digital health, powered by BBVA, Globant, Adeslas and Mapfre. The stage of the #BHHSummit 2022

BHH recently kicked off the party season with the fabulous first BHH Christmas Party! Many of the BHH members gathered at the BHH Headquarters last week to celebrate the holiday season together with Barcelona Health Hub.
