ASHO becomes the first Spanish company accredited by ENAC to inspect the quality of the clinical variables of hospital CMBDs – #BHHMembersInitiatives
BHH member ASHO, the leading Spanish company in the provision of hospital discharge coding services, has become the first company in Spain to be accredited by ENAC (Entidad Nacional de Acreditación) as an Inspection Body competent to carry out inspection activities on the quality of the clinical variables of hospital CMBDs, under the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17020 standard.
According to Ruth Cuscó, Managing Director of ASHO: “this accreditation is a great achievement and a source of pride for us. ASHO has demonstrated that it complies with the high standards and requirements established by ENAC in terms of technical competence, impartiality and quality in the inspection of hospital CMBDs.”
The so-called CMBDs are key elements in the day-to-day running of hospitals, as they are clinical-administrative databases that collect the minimum data on age, sex, diagnosis or stay, among others, at the time of hospital discharge.
Thus, having successfully passed a transparent and successful evaluation process, ASHO has demonstrated its competence and has ENAC‘s confidence in the resources, experience and competence to carry out quality inspections of hospital CMBDs with the utmost reliability.
