World Alzheimer’s Day: it’s time to check your mental health – #BHHMembersInitiatives

On the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day on 21 September, BHH member Accexible has launched the “Check your mental health!” campaign for the detection of cognitive impairment through speech analysis.

The company offers a free test that can be taken in just 60 seconds by accessing the Testaccexible website. This test analyzes the user’s voice and provides a result in a couple of minutes, with a sensitivity of 90% in the detection of cognitive impairment in early stages.

Accexible has developed artificial intelligence-based models that analyze both what a person says and how they say it. Its mission is to revolutionize the way Alzheimer’s is diagnosed and monitored by harnessing the power of vocal biomarkers, a non-invasive, accessible and reliable method.

To mark World Alzheimer’s Day and with the support of various partners, including Barcelona Health Hub, Accexible is launching an initiative to highlight the vital importance of early detection. This campaign seeks to encourage people from different parts of the world and cultures to join in the testing of vocal biomarkers as a gesture of awareness and prevention.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, 40% of dementia cases could be prevented through lifestyle changes, and most importantly, those who develop some form of dementia can slow the rate of the disease with early diagnosis. Early detection is essential for appropriate treatment.

Early detection of cognitive impairment not only benefits patients and their families, but also has a significant impact on medical care, research and public awareness, which can improve the quality of life and management of these conditions.

It will just take 60 seconds – let’s check your mental health here!
