AI & mHealth Challenge 2024: Innovation in health and technology

JULY 15, 2024 BHH Members Initiatives

BHH member GooApps, recognized for its participation in events such as the Hackathon at Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, is organizing its own event: the AI & mHealth Challenge 2024. This pioneering event brings together healthcare professionals, the pharmaceutical industry, and technology experts to address and solve challenges in the Spanish healthcare system through innovative technological solutions.

The main objective of the AI & mHealth Challenge 2024 is to improve the quality of care and the efficiency of the Spanish healthcare system. To achieve this, the event will promote the creation of a collaborative ecosystem where current issues in the healthcare sector can be identified and resolved using technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), and mHealth, with the goal of improving diagnosis, treatment, and management in healthcare. The aim is to develop practical and applicable solutions that enhance medical care and benefit all stakeholders in the healthcare system.

The event is structured in several phases, starting with the submission of challenges until August 31, 2024. Healthcare professionals can present specific problems that require technological solutions. Subsequently, the finalist projects will be selected and announced on September 19, 2024. Multidisciplinary teams, consisting of healthcare professionals and technology experts, will work on conceptualizing and developing solutions during three online sessions on October 3, 10, and 17. Finally, the AI & mHealth Challenge 2024 will culminate in an in-person event on October 31 at the Milla del Conocimiento Margarita Salas in Gijón.

The AI & mHealth Challenge 2024 not only promotes innovation but also offers business opportunities. Startups and researchers can present their ideas to potential investors and business partners, facilitating the development and scaling of innovative projects. The winning team will receive a €3.000 prize and the development of the minimum viable product (MVP) of their project, ensuring its implementation and adoption in the healthcare system.
