Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute, and Digital Health Hub collaborate to boost innovation transfer in the healthcare sector
Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTIP), Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and Digital Health Hub have signed an agreement to promote technological innovation and its transfer to the healthcare sector. It aims to leverage the synergies between the three entities to create a solid collaboration network that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and technology, streamlines the use of available resources, develops innovation projects, accelerates the validation of technological solutions and promotes joint research and training activities.
Oscar Garcia-Esquirol, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer of Digital Health Hub, highlights that "this collaboration is key to transferring knowledge and innovation to the healthcare sector, enabling the adoption of digital solutions that improve both service efficiency and patients’ quality of life." Similarly, Eva Rosell DHH's CEO pointed out that "this public-private partnership marks a turning point in how we join forces to transform digital health from Barcelona for the world, especially at a time when the healthcare system faces unprecedented challenges in meeting the growing demands of citizens."
Daniel Moreno, Innovation Director at Germans Trias Hospital, stated that the center aims to be part of major innovation forums and sees an agreement of this kind as a way to "ensure that the Can Ruti Campus continues to be a benchmark in Catalonia." "It's essential to stay close to what’s happening in Barcelona," added Moreno, who believes this agreement will allow the hospital to "establish collaborations for validating new technologies in care and research."
Jordi Barretina, Director General of IGTP, outlined the importance of the alliance: "This agreement reinforces our commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer, which are crucial to turning research outcomes into real solutions that improve people’s health. It’s an opportunity to join forces and capitalize on the capabilities of the Can Ruti Campus and Digital Health Hub." The agreement was signed on Thursday, January 23, at the BHH Headquarters, located in the Recinte Modernista of Sant Pau. Present at the signing were Daniel Moreno, Head of the Innovation Unit at Germans Trias Hospital; Oscar Garcia-Esquirol, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer of Digital Health Hub; Eva Rosell, CEO of Digital Health Hub; Jordi Barretina, Director General of IGTP; and Raül Zurita, Head of Innovation and Technology Transfer at IGTP.
