Madrid Health Hub opens its doors in January 2025!
After the success of Barcelona Health Hub, the largest digital health innovation hub in Europe with more than 500 members from 50 countries, Madrid Health Hub (MHH) is now a reality!
Madrid Health Hub is a non-profit association, whose mission is to innovate in digital health and its transfer to the sector, linking startups, corporations, hospitals, universities and investors, and it aims to keep unifying the digital health ecosystem on a national scale.
Cristian Pascual, President of BHH, highlights the idea to create a "Health Innovation Bridge" of the ecosystem to continue driving innovation in digital health and make sure that technology reaches the healthcare system. The connection between the two Spanish cities will allow "more interactions and strengthen the connection between professionals".
MHH will be a new on-site workspace to bring together the healthcare sector's companies located in the Spanish capital, and therefore enable an easier transfer to the sector. The BHH president does not rule out that in the future the hub could also be present in other cities such as Valencia or Málaga: "Our competition is outside our borders. It is Berlin, Amsterdam... and we have to continue working to maintain our leadership and drive in digital health".
Madrid Health Hub will be operational as of January 2025, and will soon have a their own MHH Headquarters in Madrid, close to hospitals such as Carlos III and La Paz, as well as Sanitas and Hospital Universitario HM Sanchinarro. This will be possible thanks to the agreement with Aticco, a leading company in the management of flexible workspaces, which will provide capacity to host startups, investors and corporate innovation headquarters. The aim is to be a meeting point for companies from both cities.
Marja Huiskamp, until now Chief Communications Officer at BHH, will be the General Manager of Madrid Health Hub, in charge of bringing together the digital health ecosystem in the Spanish capital. Some fifty companies that are currently part of BHH are based in Madrid, including Vodafone, Siemens Healthineers, Dedalus, Generali, Allianz, Sanitas, AstraZeneca, Docline, Globalfinanz, BStartup (Banco Sabadell), and Erni Consulting.
