Sanofi reinforces its commitment to digital innovation by joining Barcelona Health Hub

Sanofi joins Barcelona Health Hub, a benchmark in the field of digital health, with the purpose of further stimulating innovation and promoting the integration of technologies in the healthcare field on a global scale.

The pharmaceutical company has in Barcelona its headquarters for Spain, specifically in the Meridian building, where it also has located one of its digital innovation hubs worldwide, where more than 400 people work, responsible for leading innovation and transformation of Sanofi internationally. This Global Innovation Center (GIC) leads global programs, in which it innovates, builds and executes large-scale digital products, as well as drives the transformation of strategic departments. Its main lines of action focus on 3 areas: finance, driving the modernization, optimization, simplification and efficiency of processes; supply chain, analyzing, updating and streamlining it to ensure the availability of treatments, drive innovation and facilitate sustainability; and digital data, making Sanofi a digital company through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the democratization of data.

In the latter field of AI, several programs have been developed to drastically reduce research times by improving predictive models and automating time-consuming activities. As a result, AI enables R&D teams to scale up and accelerate pioneering research processes to try to shorten the R&D cycle of a treatment by 40% and reduce the current 10 years to just 6. It also improves the identification of potential therapeutic targets in areas such as immunology, oncology or neurology by 20-30%.

Thus, joining Barcelona Health Hub, a non-profit association that works to promote innovation in digital health and its transfer to the healthcare sector, is another sign of Sanofi's desire to become the world's leading pharmaceutical company in Artificial Intelligence (AI) on a large scale.

Raquel Tapia, General Manager of Sanofi Spain, explains that: "It is a pleasure to be part of Barcelona Health Hub, a vibrant and innovative ecosystem that brings together healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and medical technology experts. It gives us the opportunity to collaborate, through our subsidiary, but also our Global Innovation Center, in this unique environment, where the synergy between science and technology becomes a catalyst for innovative solutions for patients. Together, we are shaping the future of healthcare, and I am proud that Sanofi Spain is part of this exciting journey."

Therefore, Eva Rosell, CEO of Barcelona Health Hub, shares that "Barcelona Health Hub is proud to welcome Sanofi to our dynamic ecosystem, which has more than 500 members from the healthcare sector. The addition of a global pharmaceutical powerhouse like Sanofi reaffirms our commitment to fostering digital health innovation and the integration of cutting-edge technologies on a global scale. Sanofi's decision to join BHH is a testament to our collective pursuit of advancing healthcare through collaboration and innovation. With Sanofi's expertise and commitment to AI-driven advancements, we look forward to catalyzing transformative initiatives that will positively impact the future of healthcare around the world."

How to Turn a Congress Booth into Real HCPs
Medical congresses remain key spaces for scientific exchange. But the way information is presented is changing. For years, booths with large screens and immersive experiences have aimed to capture attention. They work… at first. But they come with clear limitations: compatibility issues across different booth setups, limited use beyond the congress itself, and a strong dependence on internet connectivity. Today, the focus is shifting toward something else: versatile materials that work just as well at the booth, during MSL visits, or in follow-up meetings.
