Systematic reviews play a vital role in synthesizing scientific evidence, and there is a growing interest in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline this process.

During one of TPM Science’s recent training sessions, the TPM Science's team analyzed the key stages of writing a systematic review and identified two main areas where AI can provide significant support:

• Searching for studies: AI tools can generate detailed search strategies to identify relevant publications efficiently (e.g., ResearchRabbit, Elicit, Consensus, ChatGPT).
• Extracting data: AI can assist in identifying, retrieving, and structuring information from research papers (e.g., NotebookLM, SciSpace, ChatPDF, PDFGear).

In addition, specialized tools are emerging for specific domains such as biomedicine, helping researchers identify MESH terms or structure Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome (PICO)-based questions for databases like PubMed and Embase.
