Fagor Healthcare launches MAS: The solution for easy and safe medication-taking
With the introduction of the new MAS (Medication Adherence Services) family solutions, BHH member Fagor Healthcare seeks to involve all stakeholders responsible for patients' well-being, leveraging technology to provide exceptional service.
The new services consist of the "Circutrack" smart medication dispenser, designed to dispense the right medication at the right time, and a system of alerts via WhatsApp to alert patients about taking their medication.
In both solutions, family members or caregivers are notified in case medication intake has not been confirmed, by the patient thus ensuring comprehensive care.
In addition, Fagor Healthcare is providing a short video explaining the services and how the system works.
CircuTrack
The CircuTrack smart medication dispenser meets the needs of those in or providing assisted living or daycare facilities services and anyone providing or receiving home care services. This device ensures the correct dispensing of medication and notifies family members or caregivers in case it has not been taken.
Its use is complemented by Fagor Healthcare's Monitored Dosage System (MDS), available in more than 2,500 community pharmacies, thus insuring professionalism, safety and compliance with all health regulations.
Notifications via WhatsApp: Simplifying medication management
For patients with mobile devices and phones, an alert system is offered via WhatsApp that reminds them to take their medication. In case a patient not confirming they have taken the medication, an alert is sent to family members or caregivers.
This system minimizes patient intervention, as it only requires confirmation of intake without the need for additional interaction. In addition, family members or caregivers can receive alerts when the patient does not confirm intake, along with a periodic report of treatment compliance, helping to improve treatment adherence.
Benefits of MDS
The Monitored Dosage System (MDS) is a highly demanded service in community pharmacy, designed to help those who have difficulty taking and managing their medication.
Some of the key benefits include organization of the patient's medication, reduction of errors in medication handling and storage, as well as greater control of treatments, resulting in a significant improvement in pharmacotherapeutic compliance and, ultimately, in the patient's quality of life.
