Reig Jofre enters the digital health market with remote joint physiotherapy services based on AI
Reig Jofre has made strides in the digital health market by offering remote exercise services based on artificial intelligence. The pharmaceutical company, specialized in the research, development, and commercialization of innovative solutions for patients, has teamed up with BHH member DyCare (specializing in online physiotherapy and joint treatment) to incorporate disruptive digital solutions and broaden its presence in the sector.
The collaboration began with the Open Innovation Challenge organized by ACCIÓ—the business competitiveness agency of the Department of Business and Labor—during the Health Revolution Congress 2023, organized by Barcelona Health Hub. This initiative connects large companies facing business challenges with startups that provide disruptive solutions to address them. Additionally, Reig Jofre received a grant of €24,680 from the government’s open and disruptive innovation project support line, aimed at fostering innovative and technological business models.
Through this collaboration, Reig Jofre will offer digital physiotherapy services using DyCare's technology, enabling users to perform exercises at home with AI-based tools. This approach is expected to expand their presence in both the Spanish and French markets.
Marta Herrero, Reig Jofre's Innovation Director, explains, "DyCare's solution allows us to offer a 360º approach to joint health." This, Herrero asserts, "strengthens and expands our market presence and evolves our offering for our consumers." Furthermore, she highlights, "we are positioning ourselves as an innovative company that embraces the digital reality of today."
Reig Jofre offers DyCare's services in the Catalan and Spanish markets and will soon expand into France, where the company has a significant presence in the pharmaceutical sector. Their goal, as the Innovation Director of the multinational acknowledges, is to "add more value to our offerings by providing a more comprehensive joint health service in countries where we already have a strong presence."
Sílvia Raga, CEO of DyCare, explains that "the collaboration with Reig Jofre combines their expertise in joint care products with our AI-powered digital exercise technology." Raga adds that "this partnership will improve the quality of life for people suffering from osteoarticular problems while enabling us to expand into new markets, like France, creating new sales opportunities and extending wellness to more clients."
