The Health Revolution Congress makes its successful Madrid debut
Around 300 professionals from the healthcare and technology sectors gathered in Madrid today for the first Madrid edition of the Health Revolution Congress, organised by Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub and hosted at AstraZeneca Spain’s offices. The event brought together representatives from startups, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, health insurers and technology companies to explore opportunities for collaboration and help bring innovation closer to everyday healthcare.
The programme addressed some of the key challenges and opportunities in digital health, from the application of artificial intelligence in clinical practice to the future of healthcare systems. Through real-world cases and panel discussions, participants explored how new technologies can be translated into practical solutions that respond to the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
Connecting the ecosystem to transform healthcare
“Healthcare innovation moves forward when the right people meet and decide to work together. At Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub, we connect startups, hospitals, companies and institutions so that this collaboration translates into real projects that reach patients sooner,” said Cristian Pascual, President of Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub.
This vision was reflected throughout the programme, particularly in the panel “The Power of Hubs: Connecting the Ecosystem to Transform Healthcare”, moderated by Marja Huiskamp, General Manager of Madrid Health Hub, with representatives from Tandem Health, DKV and MSD.
The discussion explored how innovation hubs can facilitate dialogue between different stakeholders, identify shared needs and create opportunities for collaboration that address real challenges in healthcare.
For Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub, connecting these stakeholders is central to its work: creating a meeting point where startups, companies, healthcare professionals and institutions can build relationships, exchange knowledge and explore opportunities to work together.
Collaboration as a driver of healthcare innovation
AstraZeneca Spain hosted the congress, highlighting the importance of collaboration between science, technology and the wider healthcare ecosystem in developing solutions that address concrete needs.
“At AstraZeneca, we believe that innovation only becomes real when it addresses concrete needs and helps drive continued improvements in healthcare. By combining science, technology and collaboration, we advance and scale the best ideas to bring innovation to patients, strengthening access and equity, and improving people’s health in a lasting way.”, according to Laura Colón Madrid, president of AstraZeneca Spain.
The programme addressed some of the major challenges in digital health, from the application of AI in clinical practice to the future of healthcare systems. The case studies and discussions highlighted a common challenge: turning innovation into solutions that meet the real needs of healthcare.
