Try out the novel virtual experience ConVRself of BHH member Virtual Bodyworks yourself! Hear from their leading researchers all about the science behind how it works and how we embrace a healthier lifestyle. Sign up for this event on February 22 from 16-20 hrs at the BHH headquarters. SOCRATES is a project funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. SOCRATES is a collaborative project. It started in September 2020 leaded by Virtual Bodyworks in cooperation with Maastricht University, IDC Herzliya, Vall d’Hebron University Hospital Foundation – Research Institute (VHIR). SOCRATES uses embodiment to treat obesity, by allowing the patient to see and interact with themselves. This allows patients to target three aspects that are inherent with severe obesity: recognition, self stigmatisation and self determination. This method allows patients to tackle the root that causes their obesity, rather than simply treating the symptoms. In the next SOCRATES public event you might experiment a virtual reality like patients do and the advances already faced for treating obesity.
