Recruit experienced students from Master’s Degree in Health Data Science (MHEDAS) for internships

BHH partner Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV)/EIT Health is calling out for companies, research centers, hospitals and institutions to host internships for the students of their Master’s Degree in Health Data Science (MHEDAS).

The Master’s Degree in Health Data Science (MHEDAS) is an international inter-university postgraduate program, with the participation of eight universities in Catalonia (URV, UPC, UB, UAB, UdL, UdG, UVic-UCC) and France (UGA), the financial support of EIT Health, and the collaboration of Barcelona Health Hub, the association Bioinformatics Barcelona, and Amgen S.A. and Amgen Research Munich GmbH.

• Internship duration

Between 325 and 375 hours. It can be extended to 750 hours in one academic year if extracurricular internships are included, or up to 1000 hours if the Master’s Thesis is also carried out.

• Skills

Related to Health Data Science, e.g., health or biomedical data analytics, health data science tools, health innovation, etc.

• Dates

Between October 2024 and June 2025 (can be extended to August, if necessary, but not recommended).

• Mode

Both online (preferable, as the MSc is online) and face-to-face.

• Remuneration

Not compulsory for curricular placements (internships and master's theses). Mandatory for extracurricular placements. It is recommended that all internships be remunerated.

• Educational background

Students are mainly graduates in biomedical engineering, bioinformatics or computer engineering. The MHEDAS includes subjects on health data (images, medical records, sensors), statistical analysis, machine learning, AI, ethical aspects, privacy, legislation, HPC, patient activities, business lab, etc.; check the Programme.

• Language

English (most students are Spanish).
