The Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital transforms consultations with artificial intelligence to draft clinical reports
Typing clinical reports may soon become a thing of the past. The Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital has successfully implemented Invox Genesis, an AI and voice recognition-based solution that listens to the conversation between doctor and patient and, within seconds, generates a draft structured clinical report with the relevant information.
"Previously, typing reports forced us to constantly interrupt the consultation. In psychiatry, where an interview can last up to an hour, that meant losing up to 15 minutes writing each report," explains Dr. Francisco Montañés, Head of the Psychiatry Department. Since March 2025, the hospital has been using this technology daily in its consultations, and the results are already evident: more time with the patient, reduced administrative burden, and a much smoother care experience.
The system, developed by the Hub's member Invox Medical, allows healthcare professionals to focus on what truly matters: the patient. By eliminating the need to type during consultations, it improves the quality of clinical encounters and fosters active listening. "We now maintain eye contact and have uninterrupted conversations. We even read the report together with the patient in real time. They're surprised by the level of detail, and that reinforces their trust in the process," adds Dr. Montañés.
The Fundación Alcorcón University Hospital is one of the first public hospitals in the Community of Madrid to use an AI solution for clinical report generation in routine practice. While there are other pilot initiatives in the public healthcare system, this implementation represents a qualitative leap in healthcare digitalization.
Currently, more than 50 professionals at the center use this technology daily, generating hundreds of clinical reports and solidifying its integration into routine clinical practice. Satisfaction levels among both the clinical team and patients are high, and the impact is measurable: over 15 minutes saved per consultation and higher patient satisfaction. "Soon, typing reports will feel as outdated as writing them by hand. There’s no going back," concludes Dr. Montañés.
