Sherplay develops digital tool that helps clinicians to be more effective
Sherplay, based in Barcelona, closes a pre-seed financing round of €65,000 to accelerate its development in response to the Covid-19 health crisis. Leading medical and pharmaceutical industry specialists participated in this first round of investment.
The main objective of the round is to consolidate the development process of the company
in its first steps. The digital solution, which integrates artificial intelligence and machine
learning, into the clinical notes recording process, plans to become a tool in the pocket of
every 3.0 provider.
“We are working to solve one of the most important frictions that doctors have in their daily practice: the process of taking notes during the medical visit. In our first tests, the feedback we have had validates our vision and motivates us. We will contribute to improve the doctor-patient relationship with technology,” comments CEO Juan Manuel Rios.
The voice transcription system and intelligent management of clinical notes through mobile phones also reduces the physical contact of the healthcare workers. This way, they don´t need to share keyboards in hospitals and emergency rooms. “Using your own mobile device as a working tool will help decrease the percentage of cross-contamination among healthcare workers,” says Rios.
During the first part of 2020, Sherplay has managed to develop an Alpha version of its mobile tool that will tested in clinical conditions in mid-July. With the scheduling of a next round of financing for January 2021, the company is firmly committed to being the “to go” company for strategic investors who lead the e-health market.
