BHH presented its Strategic Plan aligned with the proposals of the Next Generation funds

Barcelona Health Hub, the non-profit association whose aim is to promote innovation in digital health and its transfer to clinical practice, presented its Strategic Plan aligned with the proposals of the European Next Generation funds. A strategic plan of the most ambitious in order to be able to apply for funds from the European Union’s recovery plan and consolidate Barcelona as a key point in an economy of the future, focused on the health sector.

The event, in collaboration with the Fundació Privada de Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, was chaired by Mr. Cristian Pascual, President of Barcelona Health Hub, who stressed that “Barcelona Health Hub is at the forefront of innovation in health, creating and supporting a more scalable and inclusive health system.” 

Mr. Ramon Maspons; Director of Innovation (CINO) of the Agency for Quality and Health Assessment of Catalonia (AQuAS) has presented a current analysis of the European funds highlighting that “we have to prepare ourselves to compete in the framework of the calls for proposals in the improvement of the digital health transformation. The projects with a strategy prior to the appearance of the funds will come out in winning positions.” He also stressed that “good public-private projects with a complete vision of the value chain will be the most valued.” 

Finally, the CEO of BHH, Mr. Luis Badrinas, made a presentation of the entire trajectory of the HUB and explained the key points of its Strategic Plan, based on the 4 fundamental points:

  Create a Health Innovation Centre dedicated to fostering technology transfer to clinical practice.

  • Raise awareness of Digital Health, especially in the community of healthcare professionals; producing comprehensive reports on trends, technology and investments in digital health and creating master’s degrees in digital health transformation.
  • Create an incubator for eHealth Startups.  
  • Promote connections with other territories and regions of the world.

The event, held this afternoon at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau, was attended by more than 60 people, respecting all security measures, and was broadcast via streaming where more than 2,000 people interested in the Strategic Plan were connected.
