BHH members Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and Mediktor join forces, implementing the first gynecological emergency triage based on Artificial Intelligence. The hospital will use Mediktor’s triage system in the testing phase to direct patients from Gynecology and Obstetrics emergencies to the most appropriate level of care, reducing barriers for access to healthcare. In this way, the hospital aims to better organize urgent demand and optimize its resources, offering better assistance. Mediktor, the digital health startup, offers a tool to refocus and improve care at the emergency room, guiding patients from the beginning and prioritizing their care more effectively.

The triage solution represents a great opportunity to identify high-risk patients who come to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Emergency Department, helping midwives to efficiently allocate available resources. A hybrid model with professionals from Sant Pau and artificial intelligence from Mediktor can represent a significant benefit in the provision of services, directing patients to the appropriate level of care to solve their health problem while reducing the cost associated with standardizing processes.

"Mediktor's technology will allow us to improve the efficiency of advanced triage in Obstetrics and Gynecology emergencies, classifying patients based on their level of urgency and reducing the diagnosis time," says Josep Estadella, Outpatient Gynecology Process Coordinator HSCSP and ASSIR Guinardó-Sant Pau at the Sant Pau’s Hospital .

"The use of an AI triage solution represents an improvement in the quality of care for women, providing teams with an extraordinary evaluation and diagnosis tool and shortening times, achieving greater efficiency," mentions Anna Ramos de Luís, Supervising Carrier of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Sant Pau’s Hospital.

AI-based triage procedures allow for improved accuracy and reduced inter-individual variability. Reducing the risk of diagnostic error, decreasing pressure on clinical staff and facilitating access to structured data, are some of the main benefits of the Mediktor for professionals solution.

Mediktor, through its AI algorithms and through simple questions, arrives at a list of possible pre-diagnoses, establishes a level of urgency and suggests the medical specialty indicated for each patient. To date, Mediktor has performed more than 5 million assessments in the 26 countries where it has active clients.
