Break The Gap 2025 – Final Program and Guide

AUGUST 26, 2025 BHH News

Barcelona is set to become the epicenter of innovation in health and sports with the final stages of the Break the Gap: AI for Health & Sport Summit 2025. On September 9 and 10, two iconic venues — the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau and the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys — will host a unique event that blends technology, entrepreneurship, and forward-thinking to tackle real-world challenges in healthcare and sports. After three intensive online sessions, the decisive moment arrives: eight finalist projects will present their solutions to a jury and the public, competing for recognition and a €50,000 equity investment offered by Goo Ventures®.

September 9 will focus on the health vertical. The day will begin with a welcome coffee and an opening address by Eric Garcia, CEO of GooApps, and representatives from the Barcelona Health Hub. The four health finalists — CON-TACTO, MyMind, QGuard Med, and RheumaLink — will each have 20-minute pitch sessions to showcase their proposals. After a networking breakfast, attendees will enjoy two key talks: a candid conversation from Alfonso Amado (La Ruta Azul) on the “messy middle” of digital health entrepreneurship, and a masterclass by Antonio Rodríguez Hita (EIT Health Spain) on European opportunities for health startups. The session will conclude with the awards ceremony and a vermouth networking session with live DJ.

September 10 will spotlight the sports vertical. At the Estadi Olímpic, the finalist teams — Sport For All, Oncologym, TwinH, and 10Mets — will present their innovative proposals aimed at transforming training, physical health, and inclusion through sports. The program will also feature talks by Leonor Gallardo (FIFA Research Institute) on sustainability in sports surfaces, and Ela Goralska (Redinnova Consulting) on public funding opportunities for innovative ventures. The day will close with another awards ceremony and a relaxed networking session.

Break the Gap 2025 is more than a competition: it’s a celebration of emerging talent, a meeting point for key players in the innovation ecosystem, and a gateway to the tech solutions that will shape the future of wellness and active living.
