Dutch people in Spain can now share medical home measurements directly with GPs in the Netherlands

For the growing group of Dutch people who (temporarily) stay in Spain and need to monitor their health regularly, ombrio introduces a practical solution to make remote care easier. This European platform allows users to take their health measurements at home and automatically share them with their GP in the Netherlands or a practitioner in Spain.

Many people with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, COPD or asthma, obesity and elderly people who need check-ups several times a year face practical challenges when staying in Spain for a longer period of time. With ombrio, it becomes unnecessary to travel to the Netherlands especially for standard check-ups such as blood pressure, weight or heart rhythm. Users simply measure these values at home, after which the data is securely and immediately available to their healthcare provider(s).

By taking measurements at home and sharing them automatically, users save time, travel costs and unnecessary appointments. At the same time, they remain in the picture with their healthcare provider and receive personal advice more quickly.

Using Ombrio Is Easy

Users measure their values at home with their own certified device, such as a blood pressure monitor or scale. They then give one-time permission to share this data with their healthcare provider(s). The measurements are then sent automatically and encrypted. The healthcare provider receives the data directly in their own system and therefore has continuous insight into the current health situation. In the event of deviations, contact can be made quickly and, if necessary, immediate action can be taken.

The user always retains control over his or her data. Measurements are only shared with explicit permission. All data is sent and processed encrypted in accordance with the European Data Act.

About ombrio

ombrio is a product of SYOD (Share Your Own Data), a Dutch company that uses this European platform to make digital healthcare accessible through secure and automatic exchange of health data between patient and healthcare provider. For approximately €1.75 per month, ombrio offers an accessible solution for Dutch people in Spain who want to continue to arrange their care easily, without being dependent on physical appointments.
