From Local Success to UK Adoption
From Local Success to UK Adoption
Designing Structural Readiness for Digital Health
Barcelona Health Hub will host an in-person session led by Marco Aldovardi exploring what determines successful adoption of digital health, AI, and medtech solutions in the UK.
Many companies achieve strong local validation: clinical traction, pilot success, and growing demand yet encounter unexpected friction when entering the UK healthcare system. This session examines why local success does not automatically translate into UK adoption.
Rather than focusing on procurement or market access, the discussion centers on structural readiness: how governance expectations, clinical accountability, workflow impact, and integration models are assessed within NHS environments.
Drawing on frontline NHS experience and advisory work across digital health and medtech, Marco will explore:
- Why the UK tests integration models more than products
- Where adoption commonly breaks when pilots move into routine care
- How governance and accountability reshape implementation
- The difference between localisation and structural redesign
The session will introduce a structural adoption lens highlighting key integration risks that often remain invisible until late-stage expansion.
The UK healthcare system does not reject innovation. It rejects weak integration.
