Meditrust supporting modernisation of Health and Social Care Systems
Digitaliza Madrid is a digital innovation centre run by the Community of Madrid whose purpose is to promote the technological transformation of businesses, institutions and citizens in the region through advice, training, events and collaborative projects.
It is related to the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), where Spain is a leading beneficiary, receiving a total allocation of approximately 163 billion euros in grants and loans to finance its national Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (RTRP). The RRF funding for Spain supports investments and reforms in priority areas including health and social care digitisation.
Meditrust is a company which offers digital health and social care solutions and strategies.
During the months of September and October, Meditrust SL was awarded an exhibition space within the framework of Digitaliza Madrid, in an area of more than 50 m² on the ground floor of the headquarters of the General Directorate of Digital Health (4th floor) and the Directorate of Digital Strategy (3rd floor), in the heart of city.
During the various themed weeks that will take place between September and October, Meditrust has invited national and international experts to present disruptive technologies. These include:
- Class IIa blood pressure monitoring via Smartphones, which opens the door to population-wide monitoring of hypertension.
- New digital technology for COPD testing, replacing the traditional spirometry, but significantly more accurate and efficient with medical resources.
- New telehealthcare software platform and smart telecare hardware
- Disruptive hospitals and care homes of the future, with pilot schemes that integrate digitalisation, artificial intelligence and new care models.
- Innovations from Spain for home cardio-monitoring to Class Iia standards.
In addition, the programme will feature speakers from England and other European countries, who will share their experience and lessons learned in implementing these solutions in their health and social care systems, including collaboration with the British NHS.
Digitaliza Madrid not only seeks to showcase technology, but also to promote public-private collaboration. For this reason, together with the Health Commission of the Official Association of Industrial Engineers of Madrid (COIIM) and the mentoring programme for local councils, spaces are being created for local and regional administrations to see first-hand how these innovations can be integrated into their services and improve the lives of their citizens.
