Viamed strengthens its commitment to Ambient AI, surpassing 50,000 consultations managed with AIDA

FEBRUARY 20, 2026 BHH News

Murcia, February 2, 2026 – The Viamed Salud group has successfully completed the implementation of AIDA, an AI solution designed to give physicians back their time and allow them to focus their attention where it matters most: the patient. After processing more than 50,000 consultations in its first few months, this ambient listening system has proven its effectiveness in eliminating administrative friction, allowing doctors to focus exclusively on clinical dialogue and thereby increasing patient satisfaction. This breakthrough is powered by voice recognition and artificial intelligence technology from Invox Medical.

Unlike traditional dictation systems, AIDA listens to the natural conversation between doctor and patient in a non-intrusive way. The tool is capable of speaker diarization (distinguishing between voices) and, through generative AI models specifically trained for the healthcare environment, automatically extracts and inputs relevant information into the organization's management system.

Invisible technology for more humane medicine

The success of ambient listening systems lies in their ability to operate in the background. Prior to the arrival of generative artificial intelligence, healthcare professionals spent up to 49% of their time on administrative tasks, such as manual data entry into systems. Now, in the consultation room, this is no longer necessary. The physician can be fully present for the patient while AIDA captures relevant information and completes the clinical history.

Elisa de La Puerta, Director of Digital Transformation at Viamed, highlights the project’s maturity: "Artificial Intelligence in the healthcare world will allow us to smooth over many awkward moments, such as a doctor trying to look at the patient while typing. This is no longer a pilot; it is active in all our hospitals for all our doctors. It is a step forward toward more humane healthcare, where doctors can be doctors instead of report transcribers."

Results in a real-world environment

Data collected from these first 50,000 consultations indicates not only significant time savings but also a qualitative shift in the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Carmen Sánchez, a user of the system, emphasizes this direct impact: "The barrier that the screen creates between the doctor and the patient is eliminated. Now I conduct consultations in a more relaxed manner; I sit more upright, without the need to look at the keyboard. The quality of care is completely different."

By automating documentation, the system directly impacts the reduction of professional burnout, allowing physicians to focus on diagnosis and treatment instead of the screen. This workflow improvement also reduces errors associated with manual data entry and the use of confusing abbreviations in clinical records.

Technological co-creation: The most efficient model to accelerate hospital digitalization

The development of AIDA highlights the importance of collaboration between healthcare organizations and specialized technology companies. To achieve a reliable system in a clinical setting and avoid "hallucinations," generic AI models are not enough; robust technology adapted to the health sector is essential. Thanks to technology from Invox Medical, a Spanish company with over 15 years of experience implementing voice recognition solutions in hospital settings, Viamed has been able to build its own solution, tailored to its needs and integrated into its management system, ensuring the tool understands complex terminology and the diverse accents encountered in a consultation.

This model of co-creation and technological collaboration is emerging as the standard for accelerating the real-world adoption of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, combining the clinical knowledge of the hospital group with the technical capabilities of specialized providers with a proven track record.

TPM Science’s Strategic Approaches to Strong Regulatory Writing
In today’s global clinical development environment, regulatory operations function within a framework defined by the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) and enforced by authorities such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Within this landscape, documentation quality can directly influence review timelines, the number of clarification requests, and ultimately, regulatory outcomes.
